Preliminary results and solutions to problems

April 20, 2025

The results of the work verification have appeared in your personal account. Works in Russian have been verified, with the exception of a small number. In some cases, when the points for a task are set, 0 points may be displayed as the total for technical reasons — do not pay attention to this. We also attach the solutions and criteria for checking the Olympiad.

If you want to see a scan of your work for further appeal, please request a scan of the work through your personal account no later than April 24. After that, if you disagree with any of the grades, you can formulate an appeal within two days after receiving the scans (indicating the task numbers and the reasons why you think the score should be revised).

You can request your work from the jury by e‑mail solv@formulo.org (requests via the organizing committee’s e‑mail will not be considered). In the subject line, write: «Request for work»; In the letter itself, you must indicate the region of participation, class and participant code. Without this data, the work will not be sent. Please note that the work will be sent to you within 24 hours from the moment of the request.

Registration for the final stage

February 25, 2025

Dear participants!
Registration is open for the final stage of the Olympiad, which will take place on March 9 from 10 to 14 local time (Time and date may vary in some countries, exact information can be found in the list of venues in your personal account. The time in the information system is Moscow time. We recommend checking the information a couple of days before the Olympiad, as the organizers may adjust the start time of the Olympiad).

To select a venue in your personal account, you need to:
1) go to the «Olympiads» section;
2) find the Olympiad «Mathematics 2024–25» in the table of Olympiads;
3) click the green «Open» button under the words «Final Stage» next to your class number;
4) put a check mark next to the appropriate venue. You don’t need to do anything else, just a check mark.

If you have not fully entered the personal data required for participation, the system will offer to do so.
If you do not see a window to register for the final stage, write to isys@formulo.org.
On the page with the list of sites at the top you will see your participant code; write it down and take it with you to the Olympiad. The code must be indicated on each page of your Olympiad work. We also recommend writing down the organizer’s phone number (in the description of the site).
We recommend arriving at the selected site 10–15 minutes before the specified time to find the right room. You must have an identity document with you, as well as a blank A4 sheet of paper. You must not use phones or other means of communication during the Olympiad.

❗️ In-person sites are planned in Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Please stay tuned for updates.

❗️ If there is no venue in your region, you can contact the organizing committee to discuss its organization. The final decision will be made after approval by the management. To do this, you need to contact Alexandra.

Message from the organizing committee

November 8, 2024

Dear participants, registration in your personal account is available again.

Message from the organizing committee

November 7, 2024

Good morning!

Dear participants, we have a major failure. Over 2000 accounts have been registered in the last few days. Unfortunately, many people make a mistake in their email address when registering, so our server is temporarily blocked.

The organizing committee is already discussing the possibility of extending the qualifying round. We will definitely let you know!

The Olympiad tasks are available on the website. You can solve them without registration, and after restoring access, enter them into the system.

We apologize!

Clarifications to the problems

November 3, 2024

Dear participants! We have received many clarifying questions regarding the conditions of the problems.
Many of them are answered in the conditions, but there are several cases where the conditions are formulated imprecisely or ambiguously. Therefore, we provide comments.
In the following text, the problem numbers are indicated as follows: «8.1» means «problem #1 for the grade R8».

6.7, 7.5, 8.5. Sofia takes one or more photos FROM THE TOP of any pile.
9.1 (about the king of the class): it is known that there were at least four tests. Phrase (с) means that STRICTLY LESS participants dropped out in the first test than in any other test.
5.5. Each boy knows EXACTLY four girls.
7.6, 8.6, 9.6. Only the interaction BETWEEN the two selected children is observed — they can still pass cheat sheets to the REST of their acquaintances.
9.7, 10.7. It is necessary that no subset of rectangles form a rectangle IN THE PLACE where they are initially located. That is, for example, if two 1×1 squares are found somewhere far from each other, their union DOES NOT FORM a rectangle.

Tasks update

October 21, 2024

Dear participants,

A small clarification for problems 6.7, 7.5, and 8.5 is required. In each of her moves, Sophie takes one or more photos FROM THE TOP of any stack.

Start of the qualifying round

October 20, 2024

Here is the qualifying (remote) round of the competition.

Please remember that your solution of every problem should include not only the right answer, but the full reasoning as well.

We will be happy if your friends who like mathematics also participate. However, every assignment should be done individually; otherwise, your submission will not be considered.

You do not need to repeat the text of the problems in your paper. The solutions should be written in Russian, English, German, Spanish, Uzbek, Turkish, Esperanto, Farsi or French . Use of other languages should be agreed with the organizers in advance.

The winners of Olympiad 2023/24 (those with Diplomas I‑III) can participate directly in the final round.

Problems

How to submit solutions

To participate in the «Formula of Unity» / «Third Millennium» 2024/25 mathematics olympiad, it is necessary to submit solution files (each problem in a separate file) by the deadline of 23:59:59 UTC on November 10, 2024 (which is 02:59:59 Moscow time on November 11). Please register in our information system and submit your solutions through the personal account. Important: if you already have an account, there is no need to create a new one.

Be sure to read the participation instructions.

You can upload either text files (in TXT, DOC, DOCX, or PDF formats) or scans of paper works (in JPG and PNG formats). Each problem should be uploaded under its corresponding number within the personal account! In the solution files, personal information, including surname and name, should not be specified!

We do not accept qualifying round works in any way other than through uploading within the information system.

Questions?

All questions to the Organizing Committee about the problem conditions and the procedure for conducting the Olympiad can be asked by email olimp@formulo.org or +7(981)-750–19-21 Alexandra (write in Whatsapp or Telegram).

Questions about the operation of the information system can be asked by email isys@formulo.org.

Dear participants!
