Start of the qualifying round

Here is the qualifying (remote) round of the competition.

We will be happy if your friends who like physics also participate. However, every assignment should be done individually; otherwise, your submission will not be considered.

The winners of Olympiad 2024/25 (those with Diplomas I‑III) can participate directly in the final round.

Problems

Rules of the Olympiad

Dear participants!
Please read the rules of the Olympiad to avoid errors in writing your answers:

1. The first round of the Olympiad is remote, and answers are checked automatically. A special program checks your answer against the correct answer provided by the organizers. Therefore, to avoid possible misunderstandings, please read the instructions carefully and follow them. Any appeals for failure to follow the instructions will not be considered.
2. All problems require an answer in the form of a number or several numbers, each with its own corresponding field. Be careful not to confuse the answer fields. If you enter the correct answers in the wrong fields, the program will not accept them.
3. Please enter answers only as decimal fractions: XX, XXX… Use a comma (,) as a separator.
4. Do not (are prohibited) include units of measurement, formulas, or any words in your answer. 5. If the problem statement does not specify the units to use for the answer, use SI units: meters, kilograms, seconds, etc.
6. Since all measurements and calculations in physics are approximate, all answers must be given with the correct number of significant digits. For the rules for approximate calculations, see the file «Rules for Approximate Calculations.» If zeros appear after the required number of significant digits in an integer, this will not be considered an error. Writing the number 34.0 (3 significant digits) as 34 will be considered an error.
7. Submissions submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

How to submit solutions

To participate in the «Formula of Unity» / «Third Millennium» 2025/26 physics olympiad, it is necessary to submit solution by the deadline of 23:59:59 UTC on November 29, 2025. Please register in our information system and submit your solutions through the personal account. Important: if you already have an account, there is no need to create a new one.

Be sure to read the participation instructions.

We do not accept qualifying round works in any way other than through uploading within the information system.
